Back to School in Afghanistan – Matched Giving 7th to 14th March 2016
In March, girls in Afghanistan return to school after their winter break. This is all but banal: attending school is a hard-won opportunity for girls in Afghanistan, particularly for adolescents.
This year, we want to make their learning experience even better, by providing their teachers with higher pedagogical skills and expertise. Most girls’ schools lack well-prepared and capable teachers who are able to ensure that girls can realize their full potential.
Today, our campaign on globalgiving. co. uk to train 250 teachers for Afghanistan receives match funding. So there is no better time to donate. The offer expires on 14th March 2016.
Join us to ensure that 250 teachers can be the changemakers for tomorrow’s future, invest today, and know that as little as £50 can make a big difference, and all donations over £250 will be matched up to £5,000.
“We want to become influential and powerful people in the future. We want to have a high level of education such as a Master’s degree or a PhD to serve our people”, one of the girl students from a Womanity supported school in Afghanistan recently proclaimed.
Womanity has worked with girls’ public schools in Afghanistan since 2007 providing over 30,000 girls (and boys) with a quality education. When students graduate they have the opportunity to realize their aspirations and to contribute positively to society. This week only, you can help girls and women in Afghanistan to accelerate progress in their community.
