Role Description and Summary 

To support the Executive Director and work in close collaboration with the Head of Partnerships, in the development and delivery of Womanity’s media and communications strategy. The objectives for this role will be as follows:

  • To raise the profile of Womanity, through a clear messaging framework, the production of thought leading insights and the communication of the foundations’ impactful innovations
  • To strategically partner and connect with key influencers in the media, social impact and philanthropic sphere
  • To raise the profile of Womanity for the purpose of attracting donors and investors for the foundation as a whole and for its varying programmes
  • To provide all programme leads with a strong narrative and communications approach, which will strengthen the profile of their programmes and raise awareness around their

Key responsibilities


  • To develop and lead on the delivery of a globally integrated communications strategy for Womanity and its programmes
  • To ensure the communications strategy is aligned with the overarching growth and partnerships strategy for Womanity
  • To take responsibility for media relations, public affairs, digital and internal communications
  • To lead on the development of strategic partnerships and relationships with key influencers for the purpose of raising the profile of Womanity on a global scale
  • To oversee reporting and management of information to allow monitoring of progress against


  • To be an ambassador for Womanity and an influencer, on behalf of the foundation, with key stakeholder groups
  • Oversee and deliver the media and integrated communications strategy including relationships with media outlets and journalists, driving tactical coverage
  • Plan and implement relevant communications campaigns, events and “moments” in conjunction with fundraising and Programme Leads
  • Input into organisational messaging and brand work which supports the fundraising and programmes
  • Build external relationships and networking within NGO and communications sectors
  • Keep abreast of trends and best practice in communications and public


  • You will be responsible for managing two consultants, covering social media and web
  • You may also be in-charge of managing external service providers delivering specific communications related projects from time to

Qualifications, skills and experience Essential:

  • Applicants must be educated at degree level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proven track record in media relations and strategic communications
  • Strong copy writing skills
  • Solid understanding and previous recent working experience of developing and delivering media and communications strategies and planning successful projects for a range of audiences
  • Team player, outstanding communicator and influencer
  • Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with ‘outside the box’ thinking and the ability to generate new ideas
  • Experience of cultivating and managing communications partnerships for the cause
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office package, required; proficiency with other specialist software applications, desirable


  • Experience of communications supporting advocacy objectives and campaigns in Europe and globally
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the global women’s empowerment space and experience of navigating the variety of stakeholders within
  • Fluency in French (written and verbal)
